Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that necessitates a thorough and comprehensive assessment to identify a child’s needs and guide the appropriate intervention plan. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), autism is defined as a disorder characterized by deficits in social communication and the presence of restricted or repetitive patterns of behavior (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).

Assessment sessions typically begin with detailed clinical interviews with parents, followed by the use of standardized, validated tools such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). The evaluation also encompasses cognitive, linguistic, behavioral, and sensory domains, providing a holistic understanding of the child’s strengths and challenges (Lord et al., 2012).

It is essential that such assessments are conducted in specialized centers staffed by multidisciplinary teams, including child psychiatrists, behavior analysts, and speech and language therapists. DANI Center, for instance, is recognized as a leading institution in providing professional support to children with autism. The center offers a safe environment and tailored support for each child, based on accurate and detailed assessment results.

Engaging with DANI Center goes beyond obtaining a diagnosis—it extends to the development of an evidence-based intervention plan designed to promote the child’s growth and help them reach their full potential.
